How long will online enrollment take?

Online new student enrollment takes about the same amount of time as the paper packets, about 45 minutes to an hour. We expect the process to be somewhat faster for returning students, but we do ask that families carefully review and update their information. We transferred to a new Student Information System in 2018-19, and some information did not transfer seamlessly, so this is your chance to make sure we have it right. If you need to step away, the registration system will save your session and you can resume later by logging back in.

What if my child was enrolled in the Sitka School District previously, but not at the end of last year?

If your child was not enrolled in the SSD at the end of the last school year, you will need to complete a new student enrollment form.

What’s a snapcode?

The snapcode is like a key to your child’s enrollment forms for the upcoming school year. You should receive a unique snapcode or snapcode link for each child.

I have a returning student and I don't have a snapcode. Can I register under New Student Enrollment?

No, if your child is a returning student you must complete a Returning Student Enrollment form. Please call the school office to get your snapcode. Outside of business hours, try checking your e-mail, including your junk, clutter, or spam folders. If you don't have an e-mail address, check your mail for a letter containing the snapcode.

If none of my child’s information changed, do I still need to do the Returning Student Enrollment?

Yes. In addition to the Emergency Contact and Health Information needed, there are several agreement questions that must be answered each year for your child’s health and safety, technology access and participation in instructional programs. There are also household military status and housing questions that must be collected annually.

My returning student is entering a new school. Do I have to enroll him/her as a new student?

If your child is changing schools but staying in the Sitka School District, look for your snapcode e-mail or letter and complete the Returning Student Enrollment form.

Can I register for REACH homeschool or Pacific High School online?

Yes. Additional enrollment paperwork or interviews are required at these schools, so be sure to give them a call to make an appointment to complete those tasks as well.

Should I create an account?
  • If you’ve never completed an online PowerSchool enrollment, you should create an account. This allows you to securely save your work and come back at a later time if necessary. You can use your email address or cell phone number.

  • If you already have an account, you can sign in and complete the form. You should use the same account to complete forms for multiple children.

  • If you have an account from another district,

Save your PowerSchool Enrollment Parent Account password in a safe location - you will be accessing this site at least once a year to complete Back-to-School Enrollment forms.

Do I have to answer all the questions?

Required fields are marked as "Required".

What if I make a mistake?

If you would like to make a change, click on the underlined field or click “< Prev” to return to a previous page. If you have already submitted the form, contact the school office to make further changes.

I’ve completed the form, now what?

When you have finished entering your information, click “Submit.” This will send all of the information you’ve entered to the school. If you cannot click on this button, you will need to make sure that you have answered all required questions.

The Submit button is grayed out, what do I do?

If the form won't let you submit, you may have forgotten to complete a required element of the form. Slowly scroll through the "Review and Submit" page, looking for a red oval which indicates an item that needs attention. If there are no ovals, try logging out (click on your initials on the upper right hand corner) and log back in again. If this doesn't work, contact Technical Support as described below or call your school office.

What if I have more than one student in the Sitka School District?

Do I need to do this for each child? Yes, because you’ll need to provide information that is specific for each child. We recommend that you submit one enrollment form and then start another – this will allow you to “snap over” shared family information, which will save you time.

I don’t know what a question is asking.

You can contact your school to ask any general questions about the form or the enrollment process.
