Free breakfast and lunch for all children under the age of 19 continues through June 30, 2020
Dear Families and Members of the Sitka School District Learning Community,
Thank you for partnering with us as we offered learning through remote avenues this spring. It was so impressive to see the creative ways our teachers and staff connected with students and families during this time, and students and families engaged in the learning we were able to offer. Our administrators did an amazing amount of work behind the scenes to make everything happen for students. Gunalchéesh to everyone involved!
Free breakfast and lunch will continue through June for all youth under the age of 19 - regardless of eligibility in the Free and Reduced Lunch program. Sack meals are available for pick-up on Tuesday (3 days of meals) and Friday (4 days of meals) from 8:30 am - 12 pm at the entrance to Sitka High School. Delivery is also available if needed.
We learned many lessons during this time of remote learning and we will be leveraging that knowledge as planning begins for the fall. Beginning in July, Interim Superintendent John Holst will lead a team to examine format options for learning next fall. Everyone is very excited to see our students again!
Your partnership made a difference for our students. Thank you!
Dr. Mary Wegner, Superintendent
